Charity dressage display

PG held a dressage display and after show party for the children of the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, PG’s chosen charity on Wednesday 14 October.

WSPC is a registered charity in West London providing riding lessons, equine assisted therapy and horse care lessons to inner city and disabled children.

"We wanted to do something different for the children", explained senior partner Damian Greenish "and encourage them to continue riding. With this in mind, we invited Alice Oppenheimer to give a riding display to the children following her success of competing for Great Britain at the European under 21s Dressage Championships this summer."

The show began with the audience of 200 people including over 100 children, being talked through the movements required to perform at the level Alice does and how the horse understands what she is asking. Every move was greeted with a ripple of appreciation from the crowd and then Alice gave an exciting demonstration of a dressage to music performance before an enthusiastically participated question and answer session.

The audience moved into the arena for the after show party and the PG staff handed out equine themed party bags to all the children.

PG’s Marketing Manager said "it was a fantastic sight watching the children arriving for the evening and then meeting them all at the party afterwards. We were overwhelmed at the response from the children and the delight they took in the evening."

Alice sent her thanks to PG after the event "I really appreciated the opportunity to give a display to the children and particularly enjoyed answering all the questions they had for me."

It was a truly special evening and enjoyed by all. PG will continue to support the charity for the next two years.
