Home Address
Private or Public?

A frequent complaint from company directors is that their home address is available for public inspection.

To answer the question –

Going forward: from 1st October 2009, directors' home addresses are classified as protected information. By providing a service address a director can now ensure that his home address is kept private.

Going back: addresses on existing records can be blacked out, but only if a director has a confidentiality order in place; and for that he or she needs to show that he/she and the family is at risk And there is a fee of course - £15 (per document).

A help for some. But for others it’s up sticks and move house.
