Our team drafts, negotiates and advises developers, contractors, professionals and project funders on all forms of construction documentation including:

  • Professional appointments
  • Building contracts
  • Collateral warranties and third party rights
  • Performance agreements and payment security agreements
  • Scaffolding and crane oversail licences
  • Party wall and support agreements
  • Construction aspects of property and finance documents

In addition, we provide pre-contract and procurement advice to clients, we review and report on completed documents and advise on construction disputes.

We work with other teams in the firm, in particular the commercial property team, to enable the firm to provide a seamless and co-ordinated service to its clients.

The members of the team have advised on the following:

  • Drafting a suite of construction documents for use by a national retailer on its property portfolio and on new developments.
  • Drafting and negotiating the construction documents for the re-development of the Supreme Court.
  • Drafting and negotiating construction documentation for the development of the London 2012 Olympic Village.
  • Drafting and negotiating the documentation for the development of new materials recycling facility including for the design, supply and installation of the new materials recycling equipment and also for the design and construction of the structure housing the equipment.
  • Drafting and negotiating the construction documents for the design and construction of a hotel and conference centre in East Africa.
  • Drafting and negotiating the construction documents for the design and construction of various student accommodation developments.
  • Drafting and negotiating the construction documents for the design and construction of a new HQ for a national retailer.
  • Drafting and negotiating the construction documents for residential developments.
  • Advising various banks in relation to the construction aspects of their financing of property developments and the acquisition of properties.
